Lifetime Skills Academy Eco-Guardians for Éco Gardiens

Our Earth Guardians program teaches children how to be global, eco-conscious world leaders. The program focuses on the world’s soil, biology, ecology and biodiversity, how the modern industrial world works and how we can adjust our society and living for maximum sustainability.

In out-of-class projects, students explore trails and local natural ecosystems, making notes and drawings of all the plants, animals, watersheds, and ecosystem patterns. They collect data on plants and animals and investigate the interconnectedness of our living ecosystems, having to do a presentation on one of the elements they’ve seen and studied.

Students learn where our food comes from, the process of agriculture and how food gets to our table. During in-class projects, students learn how to care for and develop a personal plant, learning about the soil microbiome and how plants interact with the world.

Students also learn the inner and outer workings of how modern shelter, transportation, energy, water, heat and cooling work.
